白鳳丸KH-22-5次航海&新青丸KS-22-3次航海

皆さん、こんにちは。D2の蘭慧です。

今年の3月には白鳳丸KH-22-5次航海(3.8-3.17)と新青丸KS-22-3次航海(3.23-3.30)に参加しました。美しい海の風景とサンプリングの様子を皆さんとシェアしたいと思います。

白鳳丸KH-22-5次航海

白鳳丸航海は平林さんと一緒に乗船しました。主に本州南方海域と奄美大島周辺海域の海水サンプルを採水しました。

また、白鳳丸に乗船するのは2月の航海KH-22-3に続き2回目でした!

今回は採水地点が多く、徹夜の作業も多かったです。二人しかいないので大変でしたが、AORIの生物・化学分野の方から手伝って頂き、大変助かりました!どうもありがとうございました!

今回は意外に船が揺れることはなく、全てのサンプリングが無事に完了しました。また、生物分野の方と一緒に出たので、プランクトンなどのサンプリング方法を初めて見学し、たくさんの面白い海洋生物を近距離で見ることができました。さまざまな分野の方と交流することで、たくさんの新知識を学ぶことができました。とても印象的な航海でした!お疲れ様でした!

新青丸KS-22-3次航海

次は新青丸の航海です。新青丸の研究航海に参加するのは修士時代に続いて3回目で、研究航海に参加するのも9回目でした。

今回は主に南海トラフの海洋地質調査を行いましたが、私自身、新しく開発したメタン抽出システムの試運転を行いました(大学院生研究船共同利用)。

また、研究室に新青丸航海に行ったのは私だけで、AORIの芦先生、山口先生、高知大の村山研究室の方と神戸大の井尻研究室の方と一緒に乗船しました。

また、一日目と二日目にはメタン抽出システムの試運転を行いながら、ピストンコアラーとマルチプルコアラーを用いた採泥作業の見学と補助を行いました。

三日目から海況が悪くなったので、予定していた観測作業はすべて中止となり、和歌浦湾に停泊しました。幸いなことに、メタン抽出システムの試運転が長時間できて、ガスサンプルを無事に取ることができました。また、航海の後半で船内セミナーを行い、高知大学と神戸大学の先生方や学生の皆さんとお話しすることで、様々な分野(特に海洋地質調査)について学ぶことができました。

メタン抽出システムが無事に長時間運転することができて良かったです!これからもメタンの14Cの測定の開発を頑張っていきたいと思います。
