→研究室のテーマと全く関係ないけど、単純に面白かったので、今週は「ゴキブリ体内の窒素循環」。ゴキブリの体内共生細菌のゲノムを解析した結果、この細菌はゴキブリの体の老廃物窒素を、アミノ酸やビタミンに変換していることが明らかになった。細菌たちのおかげで、ゴキブリは排尿する必要さえないという。ゴキブリ半端ない。

宇宙線生成核種10Beによって完新世におけるボリビアTelata氷河の後退を復元。10.8〜8.5kaの急激な後退の後、LIAまでゆっくりと後退し、その後20世紀に急激な後退をしている。現在より11kaは3.3±0.8 °C低く、小氷河期の終わりまで2.1±0.8 °C低くかった。
