2011/12 AGU

M2の坂下です。

たいへん遅くなりましたが2011年12月に行われましたAGUについて
簡単に報告させて頂きます。

AGUは毎年アメリカのサンフランシスコで開催される学会です。
今回横山研から参加したのは横山先生、スティーブ、川久保さん、中村と坂下です。

AGUは非常に大きな学会ですので
古気候研究の著名人も多く参加しており
その人たちの研究の話を聞くことでとても良い刺激となりました。

CMIP会議@ハワイ

3/3-9にかけてハワイ大学にて、気候モデルの比較検討会議(CMIP)が開かれ、横山先生が参加されました。

初めての参加だったそうですが、AORIからも木本副所長をはじめ、多くの方々が参加されていたそうです。

色々な研究者と交流されたそうですが、特にIPCCのWG1(第一作業部会)長のThomas Stockerと久々にお会いし、古気候モデルや研究の現状についての意見交換、現在進行中の次回報告書の作業状況などについても話をすることができたそうです。

全学体験ゼミナール


D1 川久保です。

2月17日に全学体験ゼミナールで、駒場の1,2年生が大気海洋研にやってきました。私たちの部門では、横山先生とスティーブが授業をした後、私たちの研究紹介と実際に私たちが使用している分析機器(レーザーアブレーションICP-MSなど)や実験室(放射性炭素年代測定の前処理ラインなど)の見学をしました。みんな熱心に話を聞いていて、積極的に質問もしていました。駒場生にとっては、柏の研究室の雰囲気を知る良い機会だったんじゃないかと思います。将来、今回来てくれた駒場生が研究室に来てくれるといいなー。
もちろん、今回に限らずいつでも見学可能なので、興味を持ってくれた方は研究室の誰でもいいので、ぜひコンタクトを取ってみて下さい!お待ちしています!
