ご挨拶が遅れてしまいましたが、5月1日付けで着任しました
平林頌子(ひらばやし しょうこ)と申します。
奄美Kuroshioプロジェクトを担当する講師として着任しました。

 

修士・博士課程の時、横山研の学生として研究させていただいておりましたが、

また横山研の皆さんと一緒に研究できること、大変嬉しく思っております。

主に、放射性炭素やウラン系列核種を用いた、完新世・人新世の海水動態復元の研究を行なっています。

どうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

 

奄美Kuroshioプロジェクトの講師として着任した私ですが、

実は現在、岩手県大槌にある国際沿岸海洋センターで研究生活を送っています。

奄美大島に赴任する前に、まずは大槌にて、「海と希望の学校 in 三陸」の開催や

大槌での共同利用施設の運用についてなど、勉強しているところです。

地域に根差した研究や教育活動をしているセンターで、

地元の中高生や漁協関係者たちとの距離がとても近いことが特徴だと思います。

私も少しずつ「海と希望の学校 in 三陸」でのお話会や施設見学案内を担当したり、

共同利用の船舶を用いた海洋観測などをさせていただいています。

Covid-19情勢のため、なかなか奄美大島に行けない状況ですが、

奄美に行って活動開始した暁には、この大槌での経験を活かし、

プロジェクトの推進ができるように頑張りたいと思います。

6月と7月に海と希望の学校の活動で、宮古市立重茂中学校に行きました。

 

センターの目の前にある蓬莱島からの大槌湾の眺め。海が本当にきれいです。


山もとても近いです。鹿をはじめ、キツネやタヌキに遭遇することはしばしば。
