日本地球化学会年会@富山

9月中旬に、2014年度日本地球化学会年会が富山大学で行われました。
今回は日本第四紀学会の直後だったこともあり、横山研からの参加者は横山先生と私だけでした。

個人的には、論文等で名前を存じ上げていながらこれまでお会いする機会の無かった先生方と初めてお話しする機会が多く、刺激の多い学会になりました!

さて、今回の学会で印象的だったのは、地元方々の協力がとても大きかったことです。
富山駅と富山空港には地球化学会の参加者を歓迎する垂れ幕、懇親会はアーケード街の広場で地元を巻き込んだ大歓迎、また学会の内容が地元のテレビと新聞でニュースとして取り上げられる等、今まで参加した学会では経験したことの無いことばかりでした。
また、学会直後に行われた若手会の巡検では、若者たちのためにと一部博物館の入館料を優遇していただくなど、本当に至れり尽くせりの学会でした。
お世話になった富山の方々、ありがとうございました!!

日本第四紀学会2014年大会@大気海洋研究所

遅くなってしまいましたが、
先月開催された日本第四紀学会2014年大会について、
ご報告いたします。

9月6日から8日にかけて、日本第四紀学会2014年大会が
東京大学大気海洋研究所にて開催されました。
今回は学会運営のお手伝いもあったので、個人的にはタフな学会となりました。。。

横山研からも多くの学生が発表していました。
有意義な議論が交わされたことと思います。

そして、多くの学生が受賞していました!
おめでとうございます!!
