イスラエル・Soreq洞窟の鍾乳石のδ18Oや微量元素が高時間解像度の気候復元に使えるかどうかをSIMSとLA-ICPMSを用いて調査。年代モデルは縞とδ18Oの変動で得ており、1990-2008年の記録となっている。滴下水だけでなく、粒子状の物質もまた微量元素（P、Cu、Sr、Na、U）の変動に影響している。また水と溶存物質の起源は２つに大別でき、一つはゆっくりともたらされる地下水、もう一つは比較的早くもたらされる（有機酸やコロイドを多く含む）雨水と考えられる。

パラオ海溝（6,500m深）で得られた炭酸塩ブロック付近の海水の14Cを測定。87/86Srから年代は13-7Maに相当するものと推定されている。そこから炭酸塩ブロックの溶解が起源のDICの量を見積もったところ、底層水の6.7%に相当する量の炭素が溶解していることが分かった。リソクラインよりも深い海域で初めて炭酸塩の溶解が現場で測定された初めての例。
