→8.2kaイベントの際、淡水の影響を受けたはずのラブラドル海の有孔虫の酸素同位体比が変化していないことがかねてからの謎であった。この論文で有孔虫のMg/Ca比から3℃の水温低下があったことを示し、これが酸素同位体比の1‰の変動を隠してしまっていたことがわかった。
