気候モデルを用いて、21世紀の気候変動によって日本の河川によって運ばれる懸濁粒子の量がどのように変化するかを予測。特に９月の台風などのイベントで多くの堆積物が流出。社会と環境の両方に影響を与えると考えられる。

人工的にδ18OとBaを変化させた海水と通常の海水とを12時間ごと（昼と夜）に変え、O. universaを飼育した。LA-ICPMSでBaの変化する位置を特定し、さらにSIMSでδ18Oを測定した（±0.6‰, 2σ）。殻のδ18O変動は予測と良く一致した（±1.1‰）。
