前日の22日には大学院、地球惑星科学先専攻の卒業式がありました。

横山研究室からは博士課程をベルさん、平林さん、修士課程を福與さん、尾崎さんが修了されました。

皆さん、おめでとうございました！


素晴らしい先輩方と過ごすことができたことは、自分にとって大変貴重な経験になりました。今後も研究や学会などでお会いできたらと思っております。

熊本県・球泉洞訪問

初めての投稿になります。
鍾乳石を用いた古環境復元の研究を行っているB4の石沢です。
先日無事卒論提出を終え、4月からも引き続き大学院生としてお世話になる予定です。


2月22日、卒論から研究テーマとしている熊本県の鍾乳洞・球泉洞を横山先生とともに訪れました。
私個人としては、2017年10月に引き続き2回目の訪問です。

高低差の大きい鍾乳洞内を歩き、気温や湿度を測定しながら滴下水を採取しました。
台風直後だった秋の訪問時に比べ、川の水が少なく、全体的に滴下も遅くなっているようでした。

洞内調査後には、球泉洞を運営する球磨森林組合の役員会でこれまでの研究成果を報告させていただきました。

今後も継続して球泉洞の調査を行っていきます。

球泉洞はさまざまな形状の鍾乳石が見られ、観光地としても楽しい場所です（2017年10月撮影）

猪肉うどん

球泉洞に隣接するレストラン「森林」では熊本の郷土料理を味わえます。

今回は猪肉うどんをいただきました。くさみもなく、うまみがうどん全体にしみわたっています。

あか牛和風ハンバーグ

 日帰りの慌ただしい日程でしたが、帰り際に熊本空港の「りんどう」であか牛ハンバーグを頼みました。とても柔らかく甘みがあり、一瞬で食べつくしてしまいました。
この後さつまいもと餡を包んだ熊本名物「いきなり団子」を食し、熊本調査を終えました。
