7/19 高松第一高等学校で特別講義


7月9日に香川県の高松第一高等学校で特別講義を行った、横山先生のコメントです。



高松城は市内の中心部にありますが、日本三大水城としても名高く、海水を堀に引いている珍しい作りでした。ホテルから高校への電車の駅のそばに位置しています。



SSH(スーパーサイエンスハイスクール)の生徒さんは質問もたくさんしてくれてとても熱心でした。感想には、多くが興味を持ったことを書いてくれたほか、研究者になりたいと心に誓った生徒さんもいました。



教室には京都大学から東京理科大経由で入手したという日本で初期の分光器もおいてありました。



香川はうどんだけではなく”骨つき鳥”も有名にしようと力を入れているそうです。






AOGS2018−横山先生がDistinguished Lectureを担当


6月3日からの1週間、ハワイにて第15回のアジア・オセアニア地球惑星科学連合大会(AOGS)が行われました。

横山先生は、各分野から一人だけ選出されるDistinguished Lectureを行いました。Interdisciplinary Science(複合領域)での授賞です。



鍾乳石のウラン系列年代測定で有名な香港大のRiver Chen教授と香港大学の安原先生と。



ハワイでは昨年4月にドイツのSONNE号にて一緒に調査航海を行った、ドイツ、カナダ、中国の研究者たちと”同窓会”も行いました。
