貝形虫はカンブリア紀の地層からも産出するため、地質学における重要なアーカイブの１つである。エーゲ海から採取した貝形虫（ostracod）の殻のd18Oとd13Cを調査したところ、サイズ依存性はないが、種間で差異が確認された。d13Cの変化は食餌の違いを反映？
