→底性有孔虫d18O に記録されたPleistoceneの退氷期の年代を、大西洋12カ所と太平洋9カ所で比較すると、太平洋は大西洋よりも数千年遅れていた。つまり酸素同位体カーブを用いた年代決定は、数千年の誤差を伴うので要注意。
