1. Subglacial drainage may induce rapid ice flow rearrangement in West Antarctica
Cooper W. Elsworth, Jenny Suckale
A new model is developed to check whether subglacial drainage of meltwater could induce rearrangements of ice streams or not
The model shows the drainage exerts control on ice streams where ice flows over deformable sediments and lacks topographic control
It implies meltwater percolation could have a significant effect on the short-term variability in ice loss

2. Determining water reservoir characteristics with global elevation data
C. W. T. Bemmelen, M. Mann, M. P. Ridder, M. M. Rutten, N. C. Giesen
A method is presented to approximate area-volume relationships for large reservoirs
The method makes use of similarity of area-volume relationships within regions
The method requires only freely available, satellite-based Digital Elevation Models (DEMs)

3. Abrupt reorganization of North Pacific and western North American climate during the last deglaciation
Juan M. Lora, Jonathan L. Mitchell, Aradhna E. Tripati

4. Climate patterns derived from ocean wave spectra
Jesús Portilla-Yandún,Andrés Salazar,Luigi Cavaleri

5. Diagnostic sea ice predictability in the pan-Arctic and US Arctic regional seas
Wei Cheng,Edward Blanchard-Wrigglesworth,Cecilia M. Bitz,Carol Ladd,Phyllis J. Stabeno
While qualitatively similar, quantitative differences exist in ice area lagged correlation in models with or without data assimilation
Regional predictability is strongly dependent upon location and season
Pan-Arctic ice area summer (winter) limb memory intensifies (weakens) as the climate warms, but there are across-region variations

6. 10Be measurements in bedrock constrain erosion beneath the Greenland Ice Sheet margin
Nicolás E. Young,Jason P. Briner,Josh Maurer,Joerg M. Schaefer
